We have a [http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=bpl06416&locale=de_DE&prodSeriesId=25469&prodTypeId=18972 HP LaserJet 2100TN], which is a grayscale laser printer. It has PostScript support, two papertrays and no duplex unit.

If you want to print something, the printer should appear on your printer list if you use Linux. Printing server (CUPS) is [[Host:figurehead|figurehead]] and the printer is shared via IPP (Internet Printing Protocol).

Printing is also possible by uploading a PostScript file to the [ftp://printer/PORT1 FTP service] on the printer.

You can setup printing on [http://localhost:631/admin?op=add-printer your system] with the following URL:

Der Drucker ist ebenso über {{H|figurehead}} freigegeben. Dort ist die passende PPD-Datei eingebunden.

Im Chaosdorf-Netzwerk sollte der Drucker in der Liste freigebener Drucker erscheinen und kann ohne weitere Konfiguration genutzt werden.

Direkt drucken aus manchen Programmen (u.a. Inkscape) ist broken. Workaround: PDF erstellen und das an den Drucker schicken (z.B. mit <tt>lp -h figurehead -d CLC1160 ceiling_cat.pdf</tt>).

Die Anschaffung des Druckers war sehr teuer. Die laufenden Kosten für Toner, Ersatzteile, Wartung usw. sind nicht unerheblich. 

Folgende Spendenvorschläge gelten für den großen Drucker:
* S/W Druck A4 - 10 Cent
* S/W Druck A3 - 20 Cent
* Farbdruck A4 - 50 Cent
* Farbdruck A3 - 1 Euro
* Ausdrucke mit hoher Deckung (Fotos, Poster) usw. verbrauchen übermässig viel Toner, hier sind nach Möglichkeit und eigenem Ermessen höhere Spendenbeträge angebracht.

Ask the friendly [[Admins|networking team]] if you have trouble with the software (i.e. printer setup) and {{U|dockane}} or {{U|fibre}} if you have problems with the hardware (i.e. stuck paper).

The RIP is driven by Windows-NT embedded. Shortly after we got the printer the harddisk died. Luckily we had a bitwise image and restored it on an old IDE drive. If the hard disk dies again, ask {{U|dockane}} for the image.

== Color Inkjet ==

NOTE: Please use this printer at least once a month or so, else the inkjet cartridges will dry out.
